The Library's prime purpose is to provide favourable environment, services & materials to support the teaching, learning and research of the student, staff of the college. The Library Regulation are approved by the appropriate College committee. They are revised from time to time by both staff and students.

Rules



Any person in the library or using library services is assumed to have undertaken to observe the Library Regulaion as set out below :

  • The college library contains the text-books, reference books &different journal.

  • No book should be taken out of the library until it has been.

  • Properly entered in the loan register and entry attested by the borrower.

  • All books belonging to the library and in possession of borrowers shall be returned to the library before the college is closed for a long vacation or before date notified for the purpose.

  • No marginal or other notes or marking shall be made in the    library books nor shall be made in the any picture or page be removed or otherwise disfigured.

  • A book once issued to a borrower may be re-issued but before re-issue the book shall be presented to the librarian for necessary verification and entries.

  • Any book lost, damaged or defaced must be replaced by the borrower. If the book is one of a set or series and the volume cannot  be obtained singly the whole set or series must be replaced at the readers cost,In those cases in which the prices of the lost books cannot be     Ascertained, he/she should pay as compensation an amount fixed by the principal.


  • Rules For Lending Books To The Students



  • Borrowers, who keep the library books for more than the time allowed, shall have to pay a fine RS. 2/- per book per day for the delayed period.   Magazines should not be taken home. Fine will be imposed on any student who takes magazines or reference books.
  •  
  • If a student loses her card another card will be issued to her on application and on payment of RS. 10/- as fine.
  •  
  • Ordinarily no student will be allowed to keep the library books during the summer vacation. However any student who wants to take library books for the summer vacation should apply to the principal with recommendation of the head of the department or proctor.library cards are the property of the library and are to be returned with dues if any, paid and clearance certificate be obtained for them before taking council/university examination.

  • Seminar Library




  • There is a Department Seminar Library for every department, having Honours teaching facilities. The following department possess the seminar libraries as mentioned below:-

    4. Home Science
    5.Political Science
    6. Psychology
    7. Oriya
    8. Botany
    9. Zoology
    10. Sanskrit
    11. Chemistry

  • The aim of seminar library is to improve the academic standard of the Honours students by issuing rate and specific books, which may not be available in the section of the General Library of the College



  • The books of the seminar library shall remain in change of a teacher of the concerned department.

  • The books are issued with maintenance of record to the honours-students by the officer-in-charge and the students are allowed to keep the books for 15 days only.

  • One honours student may be nominated as the seminar secretary to help the officer-in-charge and facilitate the reading, issue and collection of books, organisation of seminars, welcome, farewell and other functions of the department.
