Mathematics being the basis of many disciplines is a subject that evolves with time and creates new theories to solve real world challenging problems. The subject of mathematics has started as a pass subject from the very year of inception of the S.B.R Govt. Women’s College, Berhampur. However the Honours teaching in the subject was introduced in the academic year 2017-18. At present the department imparts teaching in both Mathematics as Honours and Elective subject. Steps were taken by the college authority to introduce Post-Graduation in Mathematics and make it potential centre of excellence and from this session it has been started. The CBCS syllabus was introduced in the academic session 2015-16 and the Unified State syllabus was introduced from the academic year 2017-18.
