ABOUT DEPARTMENT

The Department of Home Science is one of the premier department established in the year 1960 with Home Science as pass subject. At present the subject is available to students as honours since 1983. The department introduced M.A. Home Science in Post graduation programme in the year 2017. The Home Science department is a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic unit dedicated to the study of various subjects such as Nutrition, Food science, Clothing and Textile, Child Development, Home Management, Extension Education, Research Methodology. Our faculty members are experts in their respective fields, and we aim to equip our students with essential life skills, foster Innovation and contribute to an evolving societal landscape. Every possible care is taken to pay individual attention to the students in their laboratory work, proctorial and remedial sessions. The department organizes seminars, workshops, field trips regularly. The students passed from this Department are employed in different colleges, government and non-government sectors.
