The Department of Economics at SBR Govt. Autonomous Women’s College was established in the academic year 1974-75. Since its inception the Department of Economics has been committed towards promoting high quality teaching and research activities. The department offers B.A. honors in Economics and M.A. in Economics. Teaching and learning of the department is explicate by a diverse range of academic offerings and exposure to paradigms. The course structure designed by the department includes a balance theoretical and quantitative aspects. Students are trained by renowned faculty which pursues to make well equipped economist who can tackle new emerging imperatives in economics. The department encourages quality teaching and research through collaboration with different academic and corporate bodies. Our faculty members has also made several research based contributions in major field of economics. The department regularly conducts seminars to expose students to recent trends in the subject. Extra care is taken to provide individual attention to student’s tutorial sessions. Seminars and problem-solving sessions are encouraged to develop innovative and analytical approaches to learning economics.
