• In this world of metagenomics, Microbiology has consistently proved to be one of the most significant fields in biology, making it possible to define how the microorganisms cause diseases, discover treatments for such diseases and even use a large group of microbes for industrial and environmental applications, development of new drugs and other therapeutic agents.
• Microbiology serves as an essential tool in the fields of health and food.
• The department of Microbiology, SBR Govt. women’s college was established in the year 2023.
• The department presently runs two academic programs, namely B.Sc. in Microbiology (CBCS) and M.Sc. in Microbiology (CBCS). The intake capacity for B.Sc. Microbiology is 60 and M.Sc. Microbiology is 64.
