About Youth Red Cross

The Red Cross Society is one of the world's oldest and most respected humanitarian organisations, widely known for its non-religious, non-political, voluntary relief activities. Established in 1863 in Geneva, Switzerland, it serves humanity without discrimination based on nationality, religion, caste, or race.

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) aims to inspire young students to uphold the humanitarian principles of service, compassion, and peace. Its foundation was laid by Jean Henry Dunant, who was awarded the first Nobel Peace Prize in 1901. His experiences at the Battle of Solferino (1859) inspired him to organize relief efforts for wounded soldiers, leading to the creation of the Red Cross movement.
